West Cheshire Credit Union has been helping local residents since 2004 with offices in Chester City Centre, Ellesmere Port and Winsford.  We can accept membership applications from anyone who lives, works, studies or volunteers within our common bond of Cheshire no matter their age or circumstance and we offer the opportunity to save safely and borrow affordably.

Since establishing itself as Chester Credit Union in 2004 West Cheshire Credit Union has grown to over 3000 active members and last year we lent over £831,000.00 to local people in loans of between £100 - £2000.

As a community organisation we treat our members as individuals and strive to provide an alternative to high cost payday/doorstep lenders and expensive unauthorised overdraft fees.

The credit union is not just about loans, we also offer a number of saving accounts to suit your  circumstances including Standard Saver, Junior Saver and a Christmas Saver Account.  Did you know that we also operate a very successful Payroll Saving Scheme for a number of local employers including Cheshire West & Chester Council, Countess of Chester Hospital and Chester Zoo to name just a few? 

Due to the current circumstances we are offering CNCU members the opportunity to open a West Cheshire Credit Union Account using our simple online application and if you join before the end of July there’s no joining fee.

Once your application has been received and processed we will email you our member welcome pack that will include lots of useful information about the credit union as well as your unique membership number.  As our offices are not currently open to member visits due to Covid-19, we are working remotely under alternative arrangements to maintain services to members with minimum disruption.
