Our Savings Accounts 

We offer a variety of savings accounts for members of all ages, there is sure to be an account to suit your circumstances and requirements. 

All of our members benefit from the peace of mind that saving with a credit union offers.  All of your savings are protected by the government backed Financial Services Compensation Scheme which guarantees protection up to £85,000 should the credit union every become insolvent and like other high street financial institutions we are authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by both the Finacial Conduct Authority and Prudential Regulatory Authority. 

 

Our standard saving account is available to anyone aged 16 or over who lives, works, studies or volunteers in Cheshire or Flintshire.  This is the standard account that will be opened for you when you apply to the credit union for membership. 

There is a one off, non-refundable membership fee of £5 payable to open this account which can be taken from your first deposit and all we ask is that you maintain a £2 minimum balance to keep the account active. 

You can pay into this account in cash at one of our offices or membership points, by bank transfer if you have online banking or by standing order.  This account also allows same day withdrawals subject to request being received before 12noon Monday – Friday and subject to nominated account forms being held on file.

Our FamilyLoan Account is the easy way to save for anyone in receipt of Child Benefit.  If you apply for this account we help you transfer payment of your child benefit directly into your credit union saving account and then it is up to you how often and how much you wish to save or withdraw

This account also allows same day withdrawals subject to request being received before 12noon Monday – Friday and subject to nominated account forms being held on file. 

On this account we can also set up automatic withdrawals.  This means that when your child benefit arrives in your credit union account we can place some into your savings and then transfer the rest in to your bank account without you having to call us.  If you would like more information about this please give us a call.

Our junior accounts are free to open and are available for children and young people under the age of 16 who live in Cheshire or Flintshire. 

Junior accounts can be opened on behalf of a minor by a parent or someone with parental responsibility and we will require identification for both the child, eg, passport or birth certificate and also for the adult opening the account.

 

Members that hold a standard saving account can open a separate Christmas saving account without charge. You can save in all of these accounts via cash, standing order, or payroll deduction*. This is the ideal way to put some money aside to help cover all the extra expenses that occur at this time of year. These accounts only allow withdrawals in November and December in each year.

We offer a payroll saving scheme for many of the large local employers. This scheme allows your payroll department to deduct a savings amount of your choice from your salary and forward it directly to your credit union savings account. This deduction can be stopped or amended at any time by yourself. The following employers currently operate the scheme;
