West Cheshire Credit Union is a local financial co-operative run and controlled by its members who share the common bond of either living, working studying or volunteering within Cheshire. We are a local, not for profit community based organisation and concentrate which started in 2004 and we pride ourselves in offering our members a professional and caring service.
The credit union is run day to day by a team of 8 part time members of staff and a full time manager who ensure that our members and their money is looked after and that all business is conducted in accordance with the rules and guidelines set out by the Financial Conduct Authority, Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. We are also supported by a number of volunteers that help in a variety of roles and are a valuable addition to the credit union.
Our Board of Directors also volunteer their time and meet regularly to ensure the sustainable growth and development of West Cheshire Credit Union utilising their wide range and varied experiences.
The aim of West Cheshire Credit Union is to provide safe and affordable financial services to all members of the local community and particularly to those who are unable to access main stream products. Since beginning in 2004 we have gone from strength to strength and now have over 4500 members and this is growing significantly. We have so far lent out over £3.5 million to local people.
West Cheshire Credit Union is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Firm Reference Number: 227415 Registration No 702c and Authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority. All savings held are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
